red and navy

Another day, another presentation. Thankfully, I'm done with presentations for my undergrad! Wahoo! (Here's hoping I don't have group projects in accelerated nursing school!) Unfortunately for me, when I left the house in this outfit, it was 73 degrees and only a 30% chance of rain. By the time I got home, it was 60 degrees and had rained pretty hard. At least I always carry my umbrella with me!
(Also, major shoutout to my mom for scoring this dress for me. The amount of compliments I get on it is insane! I have one of those awesome moms who rocks at shopping and knows exactly what I like to wear.)

neon green and rain boots

I took a cue from my own post about dressing up rain boots and wore a dress with my boots yesterday. I had a presentation for one of my classes (when will teachers realize that group projects are absolutely terrible?) and even though we didn't have dressing guidelines, I always feel like you should dress nicely when you present (my group members didn't feel the same). Obviously I'm a little bitter about this group project! And it actually ended up not really raining so much (just got really humid), so I ended up ditching the jacket and slipping on sandals after class to run errands!

dress: Forever 21 // jacket: Abercrombie (love this one) // boots: Hunter (similar) // watch: Lacoste // bracelet: Oh So Bow

Does anyone else love pairing dresses with rain boots? I think wet legs are so much better than wet jeans!

the best face wash (but really)

So I guess I should start this by saying I am definitely not an expert about face wash and skin types, and I tend to just stick to the same kind without really thinking about it. I also don't have bad acne or anything, but I do get breakouts pretty often (thanks to my bangs a lot of the time) and blackheads are just no fun.

But on a whim a couple weeks ago, I got the new Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser. My only reasoning behind it (which is awful) is that I'm a sucker for new beauty trends, and I thought it was cool that the face wash was dark blue. (I know, I know. AWFUL reason to buy face wash.) However (thankfully), it's easily the best face wash I've ever used. I alternate using it with my standby scrub face wash, and I absolutely love it. I haven't had any breakouts since I started using it and I've definitely seen a decrease in blackheads, which I have never seen happen before! So basically, this beauty trend is actually legit and really does work. Plus, it's one of those face washes where it makes your face all cold and tingly, and who doesn't love that?

(PS, this post isn't sponsored. I just thought I'd share this with you guys because it really works. Although if Biore wants to pay me to talk about it, I wouldn't say no! ;))

Is anyone else a major sucker for beauty trends? Which ones have worked for you?

weekly roundup

one: HBO put out some new commercials showing why you should get HBO Go. I think they're rather effective.

two: Some words are up to no good, even if they seem harmless. I've been in major support of this campaign since they started running commercials on TeenNick. It's absolutely crazy to me that people still use these phrases when it's known how degrading and hurtful they are.

three: I'm not even going to say anything about this one. Just click the link and die laughing (I watched it about 30 times).

four: Navy baseball does Frozen. Yes, it's as good and as attractive as you think it's going to be.

Here's to an amazing week!

clutch that clutch

To be honest, it took my a while to hop on the clutch trend! I always thought it'd be weird carrying a purse that didn't have straps, and thought I would end up just leaving it somewhere. But after seeing pretty much all of my favorite bloggers styling clutches, I'm slightly obsessed! They're so versatile and easy to just grab on the way out when you don't need a big bag. Here are some of my favorites right now:

pastel loving

First, wish me luck as I head to get a tooth pulled this morning! (More about that here.) I'll be drinking milkshakes and eating yogurt all day long. (Definitely not complaining about that part!)
Second, this spring has made me realize I do not own as many pastel clothing items as I want! Which definitely makes dressing springy a challenge. But then you find a pair of Sperry's you forgot you had, and everything fits together! (Also, first outfit post while wearing my glasses!)

Is there a right way to tie Sperry's? Because I certainly have not found it yet!

Do you have a lot of pastels in your closet?

forever young

I figured since I made a post about my love for Disney apparel this week, I should also do an outfit with one of my Disney shirts! I've had this shirt since I worked in retail many years ago (yay first jobs!) and it's one of the few things I still have from working there.

shirt: Delia's // sweater: Old Navy (similar) // jeans: Lucky // shoes: Target (the most comfortable flat ever!) // nails: Essie Fashion Playground // ring: gift (similar)

Are you forever young? ;)

wednesday wishlist

With it becoming warmer and only a couple weeks left in school, I am definitely caught up in all the new spring and summer lines from stores! So it is definitely time for another day of wishlisting! (Whether the items on said wishlist are attainable or not is a whole different question!)

a scarf obsession

I never really realized how often I throw on a scarf until I started taking outfit pictures. It's just such an easy piece to throw on, and can be added to almost any outfit. Plus, I seem to keep accumulating scarves with no recollection of buying them. Can I have my whole wardrobe be like this?

shirt: Banana Republic (similar) // shorts: Forever 21 (love these) // scarf: old, love this one // earrings: Always Anchors c/o // shoes: Chinese Laundry (similar) // nails: Essie Fashion Playground // lips: e.l.f. lipstick in Pink Mix (in store, only $3 and amazing stay power!)

Anyone else have a serious scarf obsession?

disney apparel

I'm pretty sure I've made it clear on here that, along with a lot of other things, I am a very big Disney nerd. Or Disnerd. I just love everything about Disney, and I'm pretty sure anyone could tell that just by looking through my wardrobe.

Pirates: Cakeworthy // Mary Poppins: Cakeworthy // Alice Sweatshirt: Forever 21 // Minnie Tee: Forever 21
Tweedles: Disneyland // Alice Tank: Forever 21 // Royals: Cakeworthy // Snow White: Cakeworthy

I think I may have an obsession. (And to be honest, I have a couple more that didn't make it into this picture.) I just love when Disney gets made into fun shirts, and I always want them! Here are some of my recent favorites:

Anyone else have a large number of Disney shirts in their closet?

(PS to anyone else who uses blogger, how do you do those "shop this post" widgets? I can't find directions anywhere!)

weekly roundup

one:  28 tiny animals that are so cute, they'll make you mad.  Pretty much self explanatory.

two: Once again, complete sucker for any kind of dog video. Throw a baby in the mix, and I'm just a goner. Baby and puppy kisses!

three: Jersey Boys is a movie and coming out in June!! I've never had a chance to see the show, but I love the soundtrack and am so excited for the movie! I am definitely a fan of every broadway show being made into a movie. Or releasing a pro shot version of the musical filmed live. (I've mentioned I'm a broadway nerd, right?)

four: If you've ever flown Southwest, you've probably experienced having an awesome flight attendant who is hilarious. This lady just might win.

five: Let's end on a heartwarming note. After Michael Vick was arrested for the dog fighting, the dogs were rescued and given new homes. This article shows you what's happened to a few of them, and it will no doubt make you smile.

Let's have a great week!

blues & greys

Yay for the warmer weather being back! I am so happy to be ditching my tights and wearing all my springy dresses and skirts! This skirt is amazing and comfy, and I may or not not have originally bought it because Marley wore it on an episode of glee. (Plus, it has pockets!) The only problem with it is that it's light and flowy, which is majorly problematic when it's windy outside!

shirt: Victoria's Secret // skirt: Urban Outfitters (similar) // jacket: Abercrombie (love this one) // watch: Tag // necklace: Tiffany // earrings: American Eagle (similar) // shoes: Steve Madden

I think my next big purchase needs to be a new jean jacket. I like the color and the fit of this one, but I have major issues with Abercrombie as a company. Plus, I feel very high school when I wear the brand. So, suggestions for the best jean jacket will be taken! ;)

hair products

When it comes to hair products, I am extremely low maintenance. To the point where I should probably be higher maintenance than I am! But every time I use a product, I either don't notice any change or it makes me hair look dirty (I have massively thick hair, even though it doesn't look like it. it surprises every single person who has done my hair!).
But, with that said, I have two products that I just absolutely love and highly recommend!

Herbal Essences None of Your Frizziness Conditioner:  The BEST conditioner I have ever used. First of all, it smells beyond amazing. Always a major plus. Second of all, it leaves my hair super soft. I honestly never knew my hair could be so silky soft :) And it really does cut down on the frizziness! I started using it last summer when it was still humid, and all my friends were asking me what I used, because my hair wasn't frizzy at all!

Garnier Fructis Dry Shampoo: Dry shampoo is just an absolute must for me. My bangs get so oily from me touching them, and dry shampoo really saves them without me having to wash it every night. This dry shampoo works and lasts pretty long- longer than any other brand I've tried. Plus, smells amazing!!

What are your favorite hair products? Any I should know about?

crisp and clean

It seems that my go to outfit as of late is a button up with some kind of fun accessory. It's just such an easy outfit that still looks put together and chic! Obviously always a good decision.

scarf: Lilly Pulitzer (LOVE this one. MERMAIDS!) // shirt: Ralph Lauren // jeans: Lucky // boots: Jessica Simpson (similar) // watch: Lacoste // bracelets: gift, Piace (similar), Oh So Bow
