spring jackets

It's starting to finally (slowly) feel like spring outside, which means getting to ditch the heavy coats and opt for a lighter one. I basically live in my trench coat in the spring, but there are so many fun and colorful options out there! This nicer weather definitely calls for some new outerwear... (Also, can you believe it's already the last day of March?)

audrey inspired

My go to look will always be something that's more classic, because I always just feel put together and confident in that style. Plus, I love being able to say an outfit is Audrey inspired. Who wouldn't want to look like they're headed to breakfast at Tiffany's, or off on an adventure in some fabulous place? ;) Enter the perfect, flouncy little black dress from Oasap. Instant chic!

weekly roundup

one: Everything we need to know, we learned from Disney movies. It's always crazy how many life lessons are embedded into Disney movies, and this is a nice list of a few of them! I think more people in the world need to watch Disney classics ;)

two: I'm going to let you all in on a secret. Any time I'm having a bad day or just need a little cheering up (or a good cry), I'll immediately start youtubing videos of soldiers returning home. It just warms your heart! This one is a compilation of dogs welcoming home their soldier owners and it's amazing!

three: 15 secrets from recruiters on how to get hired. My dad sent me this link recently, and it's really interesting. Who better to get interview tips from than the people doing all the hiring?

four: And to kick off your weekend, how about an awesome mashup of famous dance scenes, all set to a fun song? You'll be ready to dance the night away!

Happy weekend!

pastel nail polishes

I am all about the pastel nail colors right now. I've been wearing my light pinks, purples and mints since the beginning of March, and the slightly nicer weather has just been amplifying my love for them! Here of some of my favorite picks right now:

Butter London: Kerfuffle // Fiver // Teddy Girl

red plaid skirt

It's officially spring now (even though the weather doesn't feel like it), and all I want to do is wear skirts and dresses. I'm sick of pants! And coats! I feel like my friends and I whine at least once a day about how we want summer. On Monday, we actually started planning things we wanted to do this summer. And talked about outfits we were looking forward to wearing. It's been a long winter.
Today's post is one of my favorite looks for spring! A cute skirt and a light sweater, the necessary jean jacket, and my converse. Definitely my go-to look.

Anyone else live in skirts and dresses when it gets warm?

a quote day

SO, had a whoopsie kind of moment. I had a quiz and two tests yesterday and was gone from about 7 in the morning to about 7 at night. And when I got home, all I wanted to do was eat, shower and sleep. I happened to remember after laying in my bed for a little (and seeing a blogger's snapchat about their tomorrow post) that I completely forgot to write my post for today. WHOOPS. #badblogger. So instead of throwing together a haphazard version of the post I originally had planned for today, I thought we would do another quote day. We can always use more inspirational quotes in out lives, am I right?

I hope you all have wonderful and fabulous days!

plaid in spring

I really don't think plaid is a set season kind of print. It is definitely something you can move between seasons just based on how you wear it! Like this dress from Azalea Terrace Boutique. It works in spring because it's flannel and can keep me warm on chillier days, but I also would wear this in the winter too, with tights and a big scarf! I have a feeling this may also be my go to for chilly summer nights as well. Bonfire party anyone? ;)

weekly roundup

one: 24 stereotypes women are sick of hearing. Insert praise hands emoji here.

two: 9 charming stories from the history of Disney. If you haven't figured it out yet, I love Disney (and that's putting it mildly). So I love hearing fun stories like all of these!

three: Have you guys ever watched an acrobatic gymnastics routine? It's incredible! Prepare to watch this with your mouth just hanging wide open.

four: And you might as well keep that mouth hanging open. At first you think it's just a fun and cute video of siblings playing (amazingly, I should add) some Frozen songs on the piano. But then...they just blow you away!

Have a fun weekend!

flash sale sites

At this point, I'm sure most people have heard of flash sale sites. The one most everyone knows is Groupon, which is pretty darn awesome. But I have three other go-to's I hit up when I want smaller items (think jewelry, clothes, home items). I apologize in advance for all the shopping you're going to want to do because it's all so cheap and it's only available for a short time!

PS I Adore You: This is probably my absolute favorite. Not only do you get awesome deals and steals, some of your money is also going to an awesome cause. They sponsor a child with cancer each month, and a portion of the sales brought in will go to the child and their family. Pretty awesome, right? Loving these phone cases, these fun mugs and this sweet print

Eleventh Avenue (which most people probably remember as Groopdealz): This is the first flash deal site I ever found, and I have made quite a few purchases through here. Such a great selection, plus I've always had excellent customer service experiences. Major plus! Loving this awesome travel mug, this bright midi skirt and this dainty necklace

Jane: Rounding the list out with Jane. It's very similar to Eleventh Avenue, with a couple more product categories, and about a million and one things being sold. Seriously. It takes forever to even scroll to the bottom of the page! But we like our options, right? ;) Loving this awesome address stamp, the sought after herringbone vest ($18!) and these pretty glass monogram cutting boards

Do you have a favorite flash sale site? (And does anyone else end up spending way too much time looking through all the products?)

xo vox box

I recently got the Influenster Xo Vox Box, and I thought I would go through and tell you about what I got! (If you don't know what a vox box is, it's basically a box of free goodies that Influenster sends out to members to have you review them!)

Tide Pods Plus Febreeze $4.99-$14.99: I'm already a huge fan of tide pods (they make life so easy), so I was so excited to try these ones! I absolutely love this scent, and will definitely be buying the pods plus febreeze next time I need them!

Colgate Optic White toothbrush plus whitening pen and express white toothpaste $3.99-$14.99: Going to be completely honest and say....I hated all of these. Really hated them. I wasn't a fan of the bristles on the toothbrush, and found them to be really stiff. The whitening gel was messy to apply, and definitely did not absorb into my teeth at all (so I had to brush it off). And I did like the toothpaste at first, but then it started to actually hurt my teeth, like white strips tend to do (never had that happen with the whitening toothpaste I usually use). So all in all, not a fan.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Beyond Smooth Collection $9.99: LOVE. Love. I've used the Brilliant Brunette collection for years, so I had a feeling I would like this. And it totally exceeded my expectations. It smells great and it really did make my hair soft and smooth! I have a feeling this collection is gonna to be a saving grace in the summer with all the humidity.

Skinfix Hand Repair Cream $10.00: And I loved this one too. My hands have been so dry lately since I'm constantly using hand sanitizer when at hospital clinicals, so this came at the perfect time. You don't need to use much at all, and it sinks into your skin pretty quick, which means your hands don't have that annoying greasy feeling for long! The $10.00 price shocked me at first, but since you can get away with using so little, it's not too bad.

Have you used any of these products before? Which have you loved and hated?

spring dresses

The weather was in the mid 60's here yesterday, and it was AMAZING! Sure it's supposed to rain today and get colder over the weekend, but it's definitely not going to kill my spring fever. Instead, I'm just going to suck everyone else into my spring fever, and show some pretty dresses to wear in this lovely weather. Who's with me? ;)

Which dress is your favorite? Any that you're eyeing?

cobalt dreaming

Okay, before I officially start this post I just have to say....CINDERELLA WAS SO AMAZING! I saw it on Friday night, and I'm still gushing over how magical it was. Plus, I've been listening non-stop to the score. It's just such pretty music! I highly recommend going to see it!
I am so ready for summer. I don't know if I've said that enough yet, but I really am. I'm ready to lay by the pool and be tan again, and to do all those fun summer-y things. And summer clothes. I MISS summer clothes. I recently got this dress from Byer California, and it's safe to say it's making me want summer even more. The bright color is my absolute favorite, and I love the fun detailing on the back! I cannot wait to wear it for a summer night out (especially when I'm not so pale)!

weekly roundup

one: There's a new trailer out for Pixar's Inside Out, and it looks SO cute! I'm a sucker for anything Disney as it is, but this trailer made me even more excited.

three: Skeletons dance around and kiss behind an x-ray screen, and when they step out, it shows that love really has no labels. I hope this makes you smile as much as it made me!

four: A little bulldog plays the most dramatic game of peek-a-boo ever...and it's adorable.

Have a fun weekend! (Anyone else going to see Cinderella?)

rocksbox

I got my first Rocksbox last week, and it's safe to say that I'm officially in love with this service.
If you haven't heard of Rocksbox yet, I've been describing it as Netflix for jewelry. Sounds awesome, right? When you make your account, you take a style quiz so the stylists know what kind of jewelry you're looking for. And then you can go into the list of pieces they have and add things to your wishlist. Pretty much a surefire way to get things you like! Then, your stylist makes up you box for you, which includes three pieces of jewelry (usually centered around a piece from your wishlist). You can wear them and keep them for as long as you want, and send them back (with a prepaid shipping label!) when you want your next set! AND if you really love a piece and absolutely must keep it...you get 20% off retail price through the site. Amazing.
And the best part? It's only $19/month. And you're getting $100's worth of jewelry in those boxes! The even better part? You can get your first month FREE with the code "kyliemavrakisxoxo"! That's a whole month of free, amazing jewels.

In my first box I got the Sophie Harper Pave Triangle Necklace, the Gorjana Blakely ring in gold, and the Margaret Elizabeth Teardrop Bangle in Labradorite. And I'm not lying when I say I was immediately in love with all these pieces. (Just ask my parents. There was a lot of oohing and awwing as I opened my box!) The necklace is the perfect everyday necklace, and looks adorable layered with others. The ring is simple but SO pretty, and I actually feel like I could wear it all the time. And the bangle is adjustable, which made me love it immediately (I have such problems with bracelets fitting my wrist!). Plus, these pictures don't do the stones in the bracelet justice. Gorgeous.

If you haven't jumped on the Rocksbox train yet, what are you waiting for??
And don't forget, you can get your first month free with the code "kyliemavrakisxoxo"!

cozy at home

Having cozy outfits for home is pretty much essential. I'm in my apartment a lot doing homework and such, and if I stay in my pajamas, I definitely won't get anything done. Cue the cute and cozy outfits coming to the rescue! Lately my go to has been a cashmere sweater I scored on major discount at TjMaxx, and sweater leggings I got for Christmas. (Also these were obviously shot at my parent's house and not my apartment. Obviously.)

sweater: TjMaxx (similar) // leggings: Target (love this print for spring!)

What's your go to "cozy at home" outfit?
