Matrix Hair Products Review

This post was sponsored by Matrix. All opinions, as always, are my own.

I was beyond excited to receive a box of Matrix hair care products to try out. I had never used the brand before, but has always heard good things about it. I got sent the Volume Rose System (for fine hair), the Miracles: Total Results products, and the So Long Damage system.

I loved the overall quality of everything. Each product smells AMAZING, and does what the bottle claims to do (always a win). Plus, I love that the actual bottles are easy to use. I've had problems in the past with higher end hair care products having stiff bottles, making it hard to actually use all of the product. But these are flexible enough that I can squeeze them without having to do a workout first.

After using the So Long Damage system and the Miracle products, I can tell that my hair is healthier. I have less breakage, it stays cleaner longer and it is extra shiny. The Miracle Extender dry shampoo works AMAZINGLY, which is always a shock to me with my thick hair and bangs. The Break Fix and Miracle Creator products are easy ways to keep my hair healthy after a shower, and I think pre-heat products like the So Long Damage Iron Tamer are completely necessary if you don't want your hair to become dry and dull from all the heat.

I gave my mom the Volume Rose System to try out, because she has thin hair and I wanted to get her take on the system. The thing we were both worried about upfront was if the rose smell would be overpowering. Thankfully, it wasn't at all. She got a nice aroma while using it, but she didn't smell like roses all day and could use her normal perfume. She also said that it made her hair feel very clean, and so much fuller. It became easier to style, especially with the Rose mousse, and she ended up loving all of the products.

Trying out new hair care products can always be a risk on whether you'll like it or not, but Matrix really knocked it out of the park with these. I'll definitely be rebuying!

Have you used Matrix before?

hair inspiration

So I'm hitting that point where I'm getting a little sick of my hair. I know better than to go for the immediate chop off, mainly because I miss my long hair the SECOND I get it chopped, and it also would be a little impractical to chop it at this point being in nursing clinicals, where ponytails are mandatory. So obviously, it's pinterest hair inspiration time!
If you have any fun takes on ponytails that don't take much time, please share! I usually just stick to my stand bys of straight hair, half up or simple pony, and could probably use some variation. ;)
Also, make sure you stop by instagram and enter this fun giveaway!

My hair would need to be longer, but how cool is this? (And now it's got me considering extensions!)

I'm a sucker for bows!

Um, AMAZING. I need braiding skills ASAP.

Which do you think I should try? Any suggestions? Anyone wanna move to Pittsburgh and just do my hair for me? ;)

hair products

When it comes to hair products, I am extremely low maintenance. To the point where I should probably be higher maintenance than I am! But every time I use a product, I either don't notice any change or it makes me hair look dirty (I have massively thick hair, even though it doesn't look like it. it surprises every single person who has done my hair!).
But, with that said, I have two products that I just absolutely love and highly recommend!

Herbal Essences None of Your Frizziness Conditioner:  The BEST conditioner I have ever used. First of all, it smells beyond amazing. Always a major plus. Second of all, it leaves my hair super soft. I honestly never knew my hair could be so silky soft :) And it really does cut down on the frizziness! I started using it last summer when it was still humid, and all my friends were asking me what I used, because my hair wasn't frizzy at all!

Garnier Fructis Dry Shampoo: Dry shampoo is just an absolute must for me. My bangs get so oily from me touching them, and dry shampoo really saves them without me having to wash it every night. This dry shampoo works and lasts pretty long- longer than any other brand I've tried. Plus, smells amazing!!

What are your favorite hair products? Any I should know about?
