Favorite Looks From 2015

2015 was definitely one of those years where it went by so slow, and way too fast all at the same time! I can't believe it's going to be 2016 tomorrow! It's been such a fun year on the blog, and I thought I'd share some of my favorite looks from this year as it closes out. Have a great night tonight and happy new year!

BaubleBar Sale

Back to blogging! I gave myself a little break last week to just enjoy the holidays and the time off, and I definitely needed it. But I missed blogging and now it's back to business as usual ;) Which means finding a fabulous sale and rounding up the best picks! BaubleBar is definitely the best site for jewelry nowadays, and they're having a huge post holiday sale...meaning amazing pieces for great prices. Count me in!

#TBT: Last Winter Favorites

It's Thursday, which means it's time to throw it back to last year and pick out my favorite outfits. Since I definitely am on a budget, I love looking back at past outfits and drawing inspiration from them for new outfits, and definitely for repeats of my favorites. I think I'll go grab a few of these now...

Who else looks back for inspiration?

weekly roundup

one: I just have to share this story first. This little girl lost her entire family in a house fire, and now lives with her Aunt, who reached out on Facebook to have people all around the world send her Christmas cards. I urge you to take a couple minutes to read her story, and send her a card. Anything to put a smile on this sweet girl's face.

two: A wife (and Youtuber) surprises her husband with her pregnancy while their filming a Taste Challenge video. And his reaction is just so sweet and perfect!

three: 18 real life locations that inspired Disney movies. Excuse me while I quickly add every single one to my wanderlust list!

four: Daniel Radcliffe recently filled in for the receptionist at Nylon, and it seems like he could not handle the pressure of it. Trust me, laughter will ensue.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Buffalo Chicken Meatballs

Even though I don't actually like eating wings, I LOVE wing sauce. (I always dip my pizza in it. SO good!) So when I came across this recipe for Buffalo Chicken Meatballs, I knew I needed to give them a try. And they came out pretty darn amazing. Plus, they mainly cook in the crockpot, which means less work ;) They'd be perfect for taking along to a party, but I highly recommend making a separate batch just for yourself!

Buffalo Chicken Meatballs (recipe slightly adapted from Damn Delicious)

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 3/4 cup Panko
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3/4 cup buffalo sauce
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat; set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, Panko, egg, garlic powder and onion powder; season with salt and pepper, to taste. Using a wooden spoon or clean hands, stir until well combined. Roll the mixture into 1 1/4-to-1 1/2-inch meatballs, forming about 24 meatballs.
  3. Place meatballs onto prepared baking sheet and bake for 4-5 minutes, or until all sides are browned.
  4. Place meatballs into a slow cooker. Add buffalo sauce and gently toss to combine. Cover and cook on low heat for 2 hours.
  5. Serve immediately, drizzled with blue cheese dressing, if desired.

Weekly Roundup

one: 37 important lessons that the internet taught us about cats. As someone who had a cat for a while, they're all pretty darn true!

two: People at Pixar are nits and I love it! They made an actual recreation of Andy's room from Toy Story. I just want to go sit on the floor and stare in amazement!

three: This little girl is pouting and cranky....until her squeaky shoes cheer her right up! Too adorable!

four: Pretty much the cutest pregnancy announcement ever. Guys, the bar has been set for every family going forward!

Have a fun weekend!

Spinach Dip Bread Bowls

These little spinach dip bread bowls are SO incredibly yummy. My family and I devoured them the other night, and I honestly wish I had made more! Easy to make, and easy to eat. Just how I like it ;) These would be the perfect treat to make and take along to a holiday party or to a family get together!

Spinach Dip Bread Bowls (recipe from Picky Palete)

  • 13.3 oz roll of refrigerated french bread loaf
  • 2 Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 Cups baby spinach, coarsely chopped
  • 1 clove fresh garlic, minced
  • 3 oz softened cream cheese
  • 1/2 Cup light sour cream
  • 2 Tablespoons fresh shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1/8 teaspoon Chile Pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/3 Cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.  Spray 10 regular muffin cups with non stick cooking spray.  Unroll package of french bread loaf and slice into 10 equal size slices, about 1 inch thick.  Press each slice into about a 3 inch round, I did this by pressing in between my hands.  Press into the bottom and up sides of the muffin cup.  Set aside.
  2. Heat oil in medium skillet over medium heat.  Cook and stir spinach until wilted, about 3 minutes then add garlic, cook and stir for another minute then turn heat off.
  3. Place cream cheese, sour cream, cooked spinach and garlic, Parmesan Cheese, Ancho Chili Powder, garlic salt, salt and pepper into a medium bowl.  Mix until well combined.  With a medium cookie scoop, scoop dip into each of the centers of bread bowls.  Top evenly with shredded cheese and bake for 15-17 minutes until just turning brown on edges.  Remove and let cool for 3-5 minutes before removing from oven.
Happy eating!

Marley Lilly Monograms

In case you haven't already figured out, I have a serious love of monograms! And Marley Lilly is basically THE place to go for monograms. I mean, you can get pretty much anything monogrammed in their store, and you're for sure going to love it! I recently got sent this fleece vest and adorable necklace, and I was in love immediately. The necklace is the perfect size to be an everyday necklace, and that vest is just seriously cozy. And they're monogrammed, so what could be better? ;)
