Blush and Army Green

It is finally starting to feel like spring around here! (Although it's supposed to snow on Friday...but we're just going to ignore that little fact.) Whether it's warm or not, I've definitely started whipping out the more "spring-y" colors. And my favorite combo right now is blush pink and army green. I just love the look of them together! Add in bright white jeans and the perfect RayBans, and I am totally set. Anyone else just tired of dark winter colors right now? Especially when the sun is ACTUALLY out and everything is bright?

Happy Monday all! I've come to the conclusion that Mondays in the summer are just easier. The sun is starting to come up when you're getting ready, and you can go outside and not completely freeze your booty off. So even though I'm going to have to be at 5 am this summer every Monday for clinicals, I'm 99% sure it's going to be better than getting up that early in the winter!
I think my new favorite pairing is red and leopard. I mean, how can you not feel awesome while rocking leopard and some bright red? Instant confidence boost! I'll be rocking the two together this summer in different combos, for sure.

Days like today (aka days where it's snowing) really makes me miss being younger and having snow days. Snow days just don't exist in college and it is tragic. (Can you tell I just don't want to get up early and walk in the cold?)
Enough of my complaining, onto the outfit. This is absolutely my go to outfit when I want to look put together and cute, but don't have the time (or brain power) to put too much thought into it. Jeans plus an oxford is instant chic. Add a statement necklace for some sparkle (like this perfect one from Lalo and Rae) and I'm good to go!

This post has two of my favorite pieces right now. A plaid blazer from Target and velvet smoking slippers from C.Wonder. And why yes, I did manage to get them both on major deals! ;) The blazer is only $35 (and also comes in khaki with hot pink accents!) and the shoes were only $20! The shoes are last season, and I managed to score the last pair in my size (in the whole company!) at my C.Wonder outlet this summer. One of my favorite purchases ever. Plus those little rivets? They're french bulldog faces. Even better.
(And thanks to my dad for being awesome and taking a million pictures for me when the sun was not cooperating. #bestphotographer)

Going to a school that's only five hours away from home, as opposed to twelve, is SO MUCH BETTER! Especially considering my grandma is about 45 minutes from me, and my family can stay there so no one has to get a hotel. So. Nice.
And now the outfit. So... does anyone actually follow the no white after Labor Day rule anymore? I mean, winter white is totally a thing now, and white looks awesome with fall colors. So I think I'll just be over here, breaking all the rules.

So I have a problem that I'm sure everyone, whether you're in school or an office, has to deal with. It's still HOT outside, and the AC is just blasting in every building I'm in. SO. COLD. I feel like my friends and I spend half of our class whispering to each other about how cold we are and how we have goosebumps. So any outfit I wear has to be cool enough to wear outside, yet be able to add something so I don't freeze to death inside. It's a struggle. Thankfully I have a rather large collection of cardigans, which have become my best friends again recently.

My last ever first day of school outfit! WOOOOO! I have to say, I really think I'm ready to be done with school. (Of course, says the girl who plans to probably go back and get her Master's in nursing at some point. Whoops. Maybe I'm just ready for a break?) With it being the end of summer, and refusing to really acknowledge fall yet (except for the return of the PSL!), I am wearing white every chance I get! Seriously. Hence the white shorts and the light grey shirt with all the white accents. Soaking up the last of those summer bright whites!

Life update: officially moving out of the apartment today! Thankfully, I have my parents and one of my good guy friends helping me out. We'll be staying in a hotel for the night, and then headed home! (Since I can't move into my new apartment yet.) Bloomington has been good to me for the past four years, but I'm ready to move on!
The first night my parents were here, we went out for dinner and ice cream. And let me tell you, as great as it sounds to use ice cream as a prop in pictures, you WILL end up with it melting all over your hands. Thankfully, it stayed off my clothes and my new tank from TJMaxx. I absolutely love the bright neon color of it, especially against white!
