Stripes and Fresh Flowers

It's official. This is going to be the dress I live in this summer. It is SO comfortable, and you can just never go wrong with black and white stripes. I dressed it down with my favorite Converse and my trusty jean jacket, but I can totally see myself throwing on fun heels to wear this out for dinner. You know I love my versatile pieces!

red plaid skirt

It's officially spring now (even though the weather doesn't feel like it), and all I want to do is wear skirts and dresses. I'm sick of pants! And coats! I feel like my friends and I whine at least once a day about how we want summer. On Monday, we actually started planning things we wanted to do this summer. And talked about outfits we were looking forward to wearing. It's been a long winter.
Today's post is one of my favorite looks for spring! A cute skirt and a light sweater, the necessary jean jacket, and my converse. Definitely my go-to look.

Anyone else live in skirts and dresses when it gets warm?

dead men tell no tales

It's almost Halloween! Even though I'm not going out this year, and will spend most of my day tomorrow in class and then driving home for the weekend, you can bet I'll be wearing a Halloween theme outfit! Like this one! This shirt is one of my faves from Cakeworthy (aka the best place to find Disney themed shirts that are unique), and it's always fun to see how many people recognize this phrase! (If you don't know, it's a phrase from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney...and I believe they say it in one of the movies too!).

Anyone know what the phrase was before I said where it's from?

comfy & cozy

We are having fall temps here in Pittsburgh, and I'm actually loving it! Pair that with the fact that my classrooms are FREEZING COLD (seriously. one girl has started bringing a blanket to classes), and that means it's time for comfy sweaters and scarves! Unpacking my fall winter/boxes was like getting a whole extra wardrobe!

Anyone else unpack their "new" wardrobe yet?

(kind of) ready for fall

So I know I was just saying last week how I want this summer to keep going, but that was before I saw that it's supposed to be in the 90's this week and pretty humid. Ugh. Plus, I remembered that I just bought  four grey sweaters (apparently my color for fall) and a faux leather mini skirt a couple weeks ago. So now I'm (kind of) ready for fall, and I just need the weather to catch up! (Or at least maybe go down to the 60's and 70's.) This sweater is one of the four I got, and it's the perfect transition sweater! It's super lightweight and comfy, making it also pretty perfect to wear to class.

black and white

So I know these aren't my greatest pictures. In my defense though, I hadn't found the best spot in my apartment to take them yet (I have since found a much better place), and this was right after a terrifying eight hour orientation for my program! (Excuses, excuses, right?) Anyways, the pictures will be getting better! (Fingers crossed.)
Now, I can't take all the credit for this outfit. It was totally inspired by the lovely Shannon and this outfit of hers. I loved the way she paired the dress with converse, and knew I wanted to try it in my own way! Thanks for the inspiration, girl!

we'll never be royals

I've talked about Cakeworthy before in my post about all my Disney apparel, and I think this is one of my favorite shirts from them. Perfect use of the Lorde lyrics! ;) Plus, the monogrammed baseball cap is needed to hide my too long bangs that will be so thankful for a cut and highlights on Wednesday. (Insert praise hands emoji here!)

black and white

So about this dress, I actually made it. I took sewing classes in high school, and we were allowed to pick our own project to do, so I picked a dress! I don't know if I'd be able to make it again, considering I had the help of my teacher and a serger machine, but maybe I'll try again some day!

sometimes, comfy is necessary

[Make sure to enter the Always Anchors Giveaway!]

A skill I've perfected in college is being super comfy, while still looking relatively put together. It is an essential skill when you have an 8 am class, and it's dark outside when you're getting ready. I got this tank top back in January, and the weather was finally nice enough to actually wear it!

tank top: Forever 21 (similar) // leggings: Target // jacket: Abercrombie (love this one!) // shoes: Converse

I can totally see my Mom cringing as she reads this, because she notices that I forgot to take my hair tie off my wrist for these pictures. Sorry Mom! ;) (Anyone else constantly wear a hair tie on their wrist?)
