kitchen inspiration

Continuing on in my love of home inspiration on pinterest, I'm delving into kitchen love today. In my future home, I would LOVE to have an amazing and big kitchen. I love to bake and cook, and like to spread out to do so. Currently when I bake in my apartment kitchen (aka a cramped little square), I use the minimal counter space I have and usually have to put my mixer on my desk to use. Ugh. I think I'll just stare at all of these and dreams of perfect kitchens.

Maybe I'll be on an HGTV show one day and let them build me a perfect kitchen ;)

desk/office inspiration

I think I've mentioned this before in my room tour, but since my accelerated nursing program is only a year long (since I already have one bachelor's degree), I thought it would just be easier to live in an on campus apartment. And convenience wise, it really has been great! (Greatly dislike my loud neighbors and those weird noises in my ceiling, but I deal.) I have to say though, I'm ready for a place that has all my own touch and where I really get to pick everything. And one of those things is my desk/office. I like to spread out when I work, so I cannot wait to get one of those huge desks and take up all the room I want :) Since I won't have this for a while, I do what anyone would do. I stalk pinterest for future ideas ;)

Wouldn't it be amazing to have your own office/library? DREAM ROOM!

Like I said in my blogiversary post yesterday, one of my favorite parts of blogging has been all the people I've been able to meet. Over the weekend I got the chance to grab coffee with Alisha of the etsy store Lishy Lishy. (The funny part was that it was both of our first times meeting instagram friends in real life!) Not only does she have the cutest etsy store and prints, but she is so sweet! I had so much fun chatting with her and trading insider instagram stories!

Tis the season for curling up with cozy blankets! I am definitely a blanket lover, and I feel like I have a million in just my tiny apartment (okay, maybe more like 5 or 6, but you get what I mean). But that so doesn't mean I don't need more! You could always use some more cozy, cuddly blankets. Here are some of my picks!

I am such a candle person. There's just something so comforting about a candle burning, and having that smell fill a room. (Plus, they make excellent organizers once you burn them and clean them out.) One of my latest loves is Eubanks & Co. The wicks for the candle are wood, which means you get that amazing crackling sound like you would from a wood fire! So amazingly relaxing (especially while studying!). Plus, they come in all these amazing scents (mine smells like freshly baked berry cobbler!), that just make everything warm and cozy. I always worry about candles smelling good initially, but not actually filling the room, since this has totally happened to me before. But it wasn't an issue at all with this candle, and the scent spread pretty quickly! Plus, the labels and packaging are super cute. Always a win in my book.

mini room tour

So, I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I'm living on campus this year. It just ended up being WAY more convenient (no commuting for classes, the building is right next to where my classes are), even if there are some annoyances (crappy parking spot, loud neighbors). But anywho, even though I have a tiny, furnished room, I thought I'd do a little bit of a room tour today!

As much as I love the look of a desk with only a few things on it, I don't know how anyone does that!! I want everything within my reach and easy to grab!

All my pencil jars are actually mason jar candles from Bath and Body Works that I burned down, and then cleaned out! Same goes for the blue jar, which was a candle from Francesca's!

The couch isn't terrible, but the material is akin to what you would get in a hotel, so I threw one of my fuzzy blankets over it for some more comfort!

catch all trays

So after babysitting all week in a house that has numerous (gorgeous, totally useful) catch all trays, I've decided I need some. Especially one for my kitchen, where little things tend to just clutter my counters. (Gum packages everywhere. Seriously) So I figured I would put together a post of some of my favorites, as any blogger would do! ;)

1. Pretty much any tray from Nico and Lala. Reversible inserts and almost every one has a monogram option!

 

2. Evelyn Henson has the most adorable prints and her trays are no different! I'm slightly obsessed with the watermelon one. (So much so, that when I saw she had a free download of the artwork, I immediately made it my computer background!)

 

3. No surprise at all, Design Darling has super cute tray options. I think the acrylic tray is just so versatile, and you definitely can't go wrong with a monogram!

4. I'm pretty sure I found Laura Dro Designs through another blog, or maybe a giveaway. Either way, I fell in love with her fun designs, and I think it's obvious by now that I love when things can be monogrammed.

So, I'll gladly take opinions and suggestions! ;)

Since when did I become a grownup and start loving home products? Seriously, I also gravitate towards home sections now, and walk around saying I want everything every time I enter a Crate and Barrel. My latest love is pillows. It's such an easy way to change up the look of your place, without having to go out and but all new everything. Change a few throw pillows, and you have an entirely new look! I love the pillows in my living room (all from HomeGoods), but I'm a little over the ones on my bed. I've had them for a while, and they're a little worse for the wear after I had a cat for about a year (long story). 

Living room pillows. I just love the bright colors, and pretty much everything will look nice on my white couch.

Bedroom pillows. They're looking a little drab, and the beading is messed up on pretty much all of them. My cat thought the beads were her toys.

Preppy Printshop: This fabulous etsy store is run by Ashley at History in High Heels and I just love everything. She sells her designs in prints and pillow cases, and I love that the cases are white, since my bedding is pink! 

 

Design Darling (1, 2): I've talked before about how much I love Mackenzie's blog and online boutique, and no shocker here, I am loving the pillows she just added. The seahorse one would be such a fun summer addition and the blue one would match my floral accent pillowcases!
