easter weekend

So, the university I chose for my accelerated nursing program ended up being a Catholic university, which means I got an actual Easter break! Thursday through Monday! It was actually the first time I had been home for Easter since I started college in 2010. I got things accomplished (dentist and doctor appt), went through old boxes (SO many good pictures), did fun Easter things, and got to hang out with my family all weekend!

Thursday was filled with appointments and catch up sleeping (so much napping), and I went through a big chest in my room that has a bunch of old memories....and I remembered how much I used to be obsessed with the Jonas Brothers, High School Musical and Miley Cyrus. And that my life was basically dominated by ballet when I was younger (#missitsomuch).

Friday my sister came home, and we went to see Cinderella again with my dad...and it was even more magical the second time! (If it isn't obvious by now, I'm obsessed with the movie.)
Saturday was filled with running around, dyeing Easter eggs and watching the Final Four games (my IU alumni heart is beyond happy that Wisconsin beat out Kentucky!).

We went to church and brunch (delicious!) on Sunday, and my sister and I each went through a bunch our old school boxes and looked at all the old pictures and school projects. HILARIOUS.

(outfit posts for both of us coming soon!)

And Monday included shooting blog looks in the morning with my dad, and then the long drive back to Pittsburgh. A short weekend, but a fun one! Being closer to home this year and being able to drive home for weekends has been fantastic!

How was everyone's Easter weekend? Do anything fun?

thanksgiving break

I had such a great and relaxing break. Totally taking advantage of these long breaks while I can, since I know I'll never get breaks like these once I finish school! (Is that why people keep going for more degrees? Must be why ;))

A good chunk of our Christmas decorations were up when I got home, and I absolutely loved it! (I've had my little tree up in my apartment since November 1!) This picture though definitely does not show the enormity of our decorations (nutcracker collection, other tree with our village and train, christmas book collection....)

I'm totally incapable of doing fun things with my own hair, but my sister has the perfect hair to play with!

Our Thanksgiving day setup! (Christmas plates and placemats of course.) And a selfie to go along with it!

Gotta love family selfies while watching home videos, and taking pictures literally every time my sister randomly falls asleep....which happens a lot. Girl can sleep anywhere. (Not pictured: my mom who is sitting next to me, but was sick the whole break :( she caught bronchitis boooo)

We took a trip to Longwood Gardens on Saturday, and if you're in the area (we drive about an hour to get there) you absolutely must go for their Christmas display! It is completely magical and beautiful (plus, the hot chocolate is fabulous.)

And now, I'm back at school. BOO. But only 2 1/2 weeks until the end of the semester and I get to go home again! Just have to make it through finals first.....

idk bout you, but i'm feelin 22

Thanks for all the sweet birthday wishes yesterday! I had a great day with my family and thought I'd do a little recap.

We started the day with church and brunch at one of my favorite places, the Lederach Tea Room. Pumpkin pancakes with cream cheese glaze, and chai tea. YUM.
We headed up to Philly for the rest of the day and went to the Art Museum (with the famous Rocky steps), and I absolutely fell in love with the place. It's just amazing. I can't believe I hadn't been before! One of the buildings also had some fashion exhibits, so I was just in heaven.

Can you tell I like taking pictures? PS, it should be known that my parents both saw that dragon statue at separate times and both declared that "it looks like that thing from Mulan!" (aka Mushu).

And what's a trip to Philly without some Rocky steps picture and ice cream from an ice cream truck? (Yes, that's a spongebob ice cream/popsicle.) (Outfit deets to come later.)
We ended the day with a dinner at California Pizza Kitchen, and some good reality TV show watching once we got home. A great birthday!

How was your weekend?
