Confetti Compost Cookies

I made a rather large batch of these cookies, and they were gone in a matter of days! Less is definitely not more when it comes to these confetti compost cookies. The more fun pieces you add in, the better they are! I mean, what can go wrong with cookie dough, chocolate chips, sprinkles and every other thing on this list?

Confetti Compost Cookies (recipe from With Sprinkles on Top)

ingredients:
  • 1-1/2 sticks unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 1 cup loosely packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup crushed salt and vinegar potato chips
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chunks
  • 1/2 cup crushed salted pretzels
  • 1/3 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/3 cup assorted sprinkles

directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
2. In a bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and salt, then set aside.
3. In another bowl, whisk the cooled butter and sugars until they are combined. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla and stir until mixed and smooth.
4. Gradually add in dry ingredients and mix with a spoon until a dough forms – it will look crumbly at first, but it will come together. I even used my hands to help at one point. Fold in all of your add-in’s here, using a spoon and your hands (if need be) to bring it together.
5. Roll dough into 1 1/2-inch balls and place on a nonstick baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 9-12 minutes, or until the middles are just set. Don’t over bake. Cool on wire racks.
Have fun! Let me know if you try them and add any other ingredients!

I was lucky enough to be a part of this amazing campaign at The Body ShopThey worked with street artist Eine to create a limited edition hemp hand protector where a portion of the proceeds will be donated to charities that protect and enrich our planet. And the best part? By purchasing the limited edition bottle, you get to vote for the causes close to your heart!

Such a perfect quote!

I recently was sent the top 5 products from It Cosmetics, and I'm so excited to be trying them out! A blog post will be coming soon with my thoughts!

My new go to workout tank. Or every day. It's too much fun.

I've been obsessed with shakes and smoothies lately. I usually do a chocolate/banana protein shake, or the Jamba Juice freezer packs. Do you have any fave recipes?

Low Back Grey Sweater

Happy Monday everyone! It's freezing here, but it's supposed to be 70 degrees by Wednesday? Can it just be time for it to stay warm?
Until then, I'll just keep on living in my sweaters. I have about 50 million grey sweaters (possibly an exaggeration), but I love how the low-V back makes this one stand out! Not gonna lie, I instantly feel cooler and stand up straighter every time I wear it. (My back and posture thanks me for it). I paired it with jeans and boots for these cooler temps, but I could easily see wearing it with shorts in the summer on a chillier night!

sweater: Nordstrom Rack (fun alternative, white and light version) // jeans: J.Crew // boots: Unisa (steal, splurge) // sunglasses: Cole Haan (similar)

Have a great Monday!

Matrix Hair Products Review

This post was sponsored by Matrix. All opinions, as always, are my own.

I was beyond excited to receive a box of Matrix hair care products to try out. I had never used the brand before, but has always heard good things about it. I got sent the Volume Rose System (for fine hair), the Miracles: Total Results products, and the So Long Damage system.

I loved the overall quality of everything. Each product smells AMAZING, and does what the bottle claims to do (always a win). Plus, I love that the actual bottles are easy to use. I've had problems in the past with higher end hair care products having stiff bottles, making it hard to actually use all of the product. But these are flexible enough that I can squeeze them without having to do a workout first.

After using the So Long Damage system and the Miracle products, I can tell that my hair is healthier. I have less breakage, it stays cleaner longer and it is extra shiny. The Miracle Extender dry shampoo works AMAZINGLY, which is always a shock to me with my thick hair and bangs. The Break Fix and Miracle Creator products are easy ways to keep my hair healthy after a shower, and I think pre-heat products like the So Long Damage Iron Tamer are completely necessary if you don't want your hair to become dry and dull from all the heat.

I gave my mom the Volume Rose System to try out, because she has thin hair and I wanted to get her take on the system. The thing we were both worried about upfront was if the rose smell would be overpowering. Thankfully, it wasn't at all. She got a nice aroma while using it, but she didn't smell like roses all day and could use her normal perfume. She also said that it made her hair feel very clean, and so much fuller. It became easier to style, especially with the Rose mousse, and she ended up loving all of the products.

Trying out new hair care products can always be a risk on whether you'll like it or not, but Matrix really knocked it out of the park with these. I'll definitely be rebuying!

Have you used Matrix before?
